Sir, The massive overpayments to Chinese chemical companies for anti-pollution equipment, revealed in Fiona Harvey's article, "Billions lost in Kyoto carbon trade loophole" (February 8), exposed just one of the ways the so-called Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) trading vehicle is hindering efforts to combat global warming.
