Royal Bank of Canada plans covered bond debut

Royal Bank of Canada is expected to launch the first covered bond from the
country next week and is targeting a benchmark-sized issue worth €1bn-€3bn ($1.4bn-$4.2bn).

Canada's leading mortgage lender was meeting potential investors across Europe
this week in preparation for the launch of its structured covered bond, similar in most respects to those issued by UK banks, RBC said.
