Alessandro Scarlatti's ultra-obscureOratorio per la Santissima trinitàhas been something of an obsession - a magnificent obsession, if you will - for some time with Fabio Biondi. The enterprising Baroque specialist from Palermo, primarily a violinist but an able conductor too, exhumed this musical musing on the Most Holy Trinity two years ago in Spain.

On Thursday night, 288 years after the Neapolitan premiere, he mustered a performance heralded as the first in the US.
